Other Considerations: 12+ yrs (younger children welcome with parent supervision). Will likely get wet cleaning Olmos Creek and SA River at Headwaters (water quality is very good except after substantial rains)
All volunteers should take precautions to prevent contact with poison ivy which is present throughout the site. “Technu” wipes for prevention of poison ivy rashes will be available to those who need it.

Leon Creek Tributary- OP Schnabel Park
Total distance: 3.71 mi
The creek cleanup extends from Buddy Calk Park/Babcock Rd at the north (upstream) to Bandera Rd at the south (downstream). Trailhead access at Mainland. The section of Leon Creek is very large and rugged. A new Linear Creek Park makes access easier to more areas.

Total distance: 2068.17 ft
The creek cleaned is within the Comanche County Park and is away from the main city roads, in a fenced area.
- Tobin Park - Street Map
Salado Creek - District 10 Tributary
The Salado Creek - Robert L.B. Tobin Park cleanup is located in northeast San Antonio, off the Loop 410 access road between Harry Wurzbach and Starcrest. (Robert L.B. Tobin Park - along the Salado Creek Linear Creekway.) The cleanup upstream endpoint is Tobin Park at Loop 410 and the downstream endpoint is on Ira Lee at Austin Highway.

Volunteer Meeting Loction: Registration tables will be in the grassy area between the Robert L.B. Tobin Park trailhead and the Cancer Care Center parking lot.

- Salado Creek: Airport - @ Skyplace Blvd Map - Street Map
Salado Creek - Airport at Skyplace Blvd. South of Bitters segment
Total distance: 866.55 ft.
Safety Considerations: PPE, RT, snakes, poison ivy.
Accessible from Skyplace Blvd. This tributary clean up will focus on 500 feet of Salado Creek upstream and downstream. This secluded creek has heavy accumulations of flood debris, both floatable debris and heavy items washed downstream. Tires.

Salado Creek - Fort Sam Houston segment - located between Binz-Engleman Road and the new W.W. White Road Bridge on Fort Sam Houston (Salado Creek Park and Training Area 10).

Other Considerations: 5+ yrs, Registration is limited to participants who work or live on Fort Sam Houston, or who are retired and carry a valid military ID.

Salado Creek - Walker Ranch Tributary
Total distance: 1.27 mi
The west end point is the bridge where the Wurzbach Pkwy ends at Blanco Rd. and the east end point is the Walker Ranch Heritage Park at West Ave. Panther Springs is also cleaned. This cleanup is along the Salado Creek Linear Park.

The tributary is the San Antonio River section from the road bridge downstream of the Zoo at Tuleta Dr. to the Mulberry St. bridge.

Six Mile Creek at Missions National Historical Park
Total distance: 2095.42 ft
This new Cleanup adds the National Park Service to the public lands cleaned during Basura Bash. Site of the historic Espada aqueduct, the secluded creek flows naturally into the San Antonio River. The creek is below a bluff, limiting access.

Total distance: 1.21 mi
The entire bank of the lake and the incoming channel is cleaned. In 2010, the cleanup will extend a short distance into Alazan creek, immediately below the dam spillway.

Zarzamora Creek Tributary - City of Leon Valley
Zarzamora Creek cleanup is within the city of Leon Valley, between Bandera and Evers. It is an engineered channel close to very busy thoroughfares and elevated highways.
Safety Considerations: NSC, PPE, LA area between Loop 410 access road and Evers Road
Other Considerations: 14+ years
